Presentation of the "Bingotto!" app
Casa Sanremo
The presentation of “Bingotto! Dalla parte dei bambini” was held on
Wednesday, February 12, 2025, an innovative educational project conceived by
Sergio Galzigna and promoted by the Salerno Carlo Mendozzi Foundation, for the
prevention of childhood obesity live on the web from the literary salon of Casa
Sanremo Writers.
The interactive and free web app, downloadable directly from
the home page of the website www.fondazionecarlomendozzi.org, aims to preserve
the imaginative capacity of children, offering them an environment free of
violence and full of positive educational models.
“Bingotto!”, in fact, offers
an educational and playful experience designed for the little ones with the
possibility of listening to the narrated fairy tales, reading them independently,
printing them to browse them on paper or coloring the illustrations either by
hand or directly on the screen of a PC, iPad or smartphone, thanks to an
adaptive interface; the experience is accessible and engaging for children of
different ages.
In addition, the app includes a section dedicated to
interactive puzzles, which allow young users to recompose some of the images
taken from fairy tales, thus stimulating their logic and visual-spatial
coordination. An educational glossary, edited by speech therapist Dr. Francesca
Stellato, helps children understand complex or difficult-to-pronounce words,
while a section dedicated to parents offers dietary advice for healthy infant
nutrition by Prof. Claudia Mandato, Head of Pediatrics at the Hospital/University
of Salerno, who will provide constant support to families, with monthly
updates.
The project was born from the collaboration of a team of experts from
different fields including: Antonio De Chiara, Pasquale and Mario Lanzieri,
Roberto Giaquinto and Roberta Salerno.

"History in the Kitchen, from precepts to reality"
AMALPHEAT School in Baronissi (SA)
The event “History in the Kitchen, from precepts to
reality” took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Amalpheat cooking school
in Baronissi. The event, conceived by Carlo Mendozzi Foundation, in synergy
with the Salerno Medical School Foundation, with the participation of the
Trotula de Ruggiero Foundation-Preventive Medicine Study Center and the Medical
School Lounge, had three aspects: historical, health-related and gastronomic.
It was the first edition of an event born with the aim of becoming an annual
event and which in its first edition put six amateur chefs, historian
enthusiasts and doctors in the kitchen, to collaborate together, in a
good-natured non-professional challenge, “rivaling” between six dishes
representing over ten centuries of medical history. The amateur chefs were
guided by the experience and watchful eye of Engineer Pietro Rispoli, a
professional chef from Salerno.
The must of the event was to prepare simple,
healthy dishes that respected the dictates of the medical school itself, obviously
or updated, or to respond to modern scientific knowledge. Great emphasis was
given to spices and medicinal herbs, which still find their focal point in the
Giardino della Minerva, the flagship of the Fondazione Scuola Medica
Salernitana.

"Notes for the Memory"
Hotel House "Immacolata Concezione"
Salerno
SThe event "Memory Notes" was held on 20 June 2023, the first public act since the birth of the Carlo Mendozzi Foundation.
The event took place at the beautiful structure of the Hotel House "Immaculate Conception", in the heart of the historic center of Salerno, on the occasion of the longest day of the year because symbolically we would like the sun never to set, or at least as late as possible, in the minds of our elderly citizens. The evening was accompanied by music and songs of Naples, curated by M. Domenico Orilia, and singer Laura Baldi; could not miss the tasting of Viccillo di Pantaleone, a brioche with eggs that was traditionally offered on Maundy Thursday, a symbolism of tradition that has certainly evoked some happy memories, even if on a different day from Lent. After the musical break, we enjoyed the sunset in the new room set up and in front of the Quadriportico, in the company of the Avv. Filomena Arcieri, President of Salerno Solidale and manager of the structure, and Ms Luisa Zotti, manager of the Hotel House, which we thank for this opportunity. For the confidentiality of guests and protection of health of the most fragile, it was held in a confidential form and therefore not open to the public.
